Malo e lelei everyone! It was wonderful to recently receive the news from Tapukitea at Niutoua that they have opened their library! With helpers, they spent a lot of time cleaning, painting and preparing a space for the library in a room at the community hall. Tapukitea organised a special opening on Saturday 14 April, with village council members, a minister, staff from the Australian High Commission, Peace Corps volunteers and local villagers in attendance.
B4T expresses special thanks to Tapukitea for all her hard work organizing this library for her village, and we are sure this library will grow over time now that's it's started with books from B4T. Malo 'aupito to Niutoua for your motivation and passion for reading!
Here are the photos showing activities from preparation of the space, to the Niutoua library opening!
