2023 Book Drive in Auckland

Drop-off dates and times:

Thursday, 14th September: 10 am - 7 pm

Friday, 15th September: 10 am - 7 pm

Saturday, 16th September: 10 am - 5 pm

(Come down the driveway on the left-hand side of the church to the door)

Books accepted:

We gladly accept both fiction and non-fiction books suitable for preschool to adult readers, for recreational reading. To ensure the best experience for everyone, we kindly request that books be in good condition – think about what you would like to receive yourself!

When planning your book donations, please consider our preferences: pre-school and early reader/picture books, early chapter books, teen novels, adult/more complex reading novels, as well as non-fiction for all ages (e.g., topics like space, dinosaurs, anatomy, autobiographies, and musical instruments).

Unfortunately, we cannot accept books in poor condition, textbooks, self-help books, cookbooks, car manuals, or books older than 15 years, unless they are well-preserved classics like Beatrix Potter, Hairy McLary, Seuss, and similar titles.

This year, we are also keenly interested in books on business and leadership.

Packaging requirements:

Please ensure that all books arrive in sturdy cardboard boxes that can be securely closed for shipping. Please refrain from taping the boxes closed, as our sorting process requires easy access for repackaging. Once sorted, we carefully repack all the boxes for shipping the books to Tonga.

Volunteer opportunities:

We are actively seeking volunteers to assist us during the drop-off days and throughout the following week from 18th to 22nd September. Help will be needed for sorting and packing the books, and any amount of time you can spare would be greatly appreciated.
